What we’ve done

The ARIES DTP draws together expertise from five universities, nine research centres, and over 40 research users to train postgraduate research students (PGRs) with excellent potential from across society.  We were part of the initial bid writing team focussing on the engagement of non-research partners, created partnership workshops and innovation training events.

Co-developed with NERC funded doctoral training partnerships from around the UK we worked with infohackit and Big Bang Partnership to create enviroSPRINT.  This three day event brings together Postgraduate researchers with  businesses to create new ideas to solve industry challenges.  It enables researchers to gain skills in teamwork, communication, time management and working with industry partners.

Enabling Water Smart Communities is a £9m OFWAT innovation fund project focussed on implementing integrated water management in the UK.  We were part of the successful bid writing  team and lead the academic workstream exploring new ways of engagement and living with water infrastructure

As part of Anglian Water’s PR24 business plan submission we created a Best Practice Guide for Innovative Tariff trials.  Building on earlier work this brought together academic insights into tariffs and behaviours to develop an industry relevant handbook.  We continue to work with Anglian Water to advise on the implementation of a seasonal tariff trial.
